Nursery Consultation
We are proposing to change the school’s age range so that, in the future, we would be able to offer nursery provision. This would involve establishing a 30-place nursery unit on our site. I want to emphasise that this proposal is dependent on us being successful in securing a government capital grant to fund the build. We are currently actively bidding for this funding, but at this stage, no final decision has been made.
If the bid is successful, the nursery would be located alongside the existing Reception class. This has been very carefully considered, as it would allow us to make the best use of shared resources, ensure consistency in teaching approaches, and support close collaboration between staff.
Importantly, this arrangement would also help children make a confident and successful start to school. Being based next to the Reception class would enable children to become familiar with the environment, daily routines and staff from an earlier stage, supporting a smooth and seamless transition into primary education.
We believe this could be a significant opportunity to further strengthen early years provision within our community. However, it is essential that we gather the views of those who may be affected by or interested in this proposal.
As part of the consultation, we are seeking feedback from parents and carers, as well as other local stakeholders. We will also be sharing this information more widely, including with local schools and nurseries and early years providers, to ensure that a broad range of perspectives is considered.
We would greatly value your thoughts, and I encourage you to share this information with others who may be interested.
